Community Grants, Mesa County Small Grants and the Western Colorado Health Fund share the same application.

All applicants must submit verification of registration with the Colorado Secretary of State Charitable Solicitations Act.  To access this verification click here: http://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/charities/charitable.htm

Community Grants: General Purpose Funding for Western Colorado

The Western Colorado Community Foundation supports programs and activities that benefit residents of western Colorado, especially those in Mesa, Garfield, Eagle, Rio Blanco, Delta, Montrose, and Ouray counties.  Grants are made to organizations in the following fields: health and human services, education, environment, arts and culture, and general community.  Grants typically range between $500 and $1,000.  Last year, $30,000 in grants were awarded through our competitive grants process. The 2008 deadline for community grants is August 15. Click here to download application.

WCCF provides general operating support as well as project support for special programs.  Preference is given to organizations and programs where a small grant will make a difference.  WCCF does not fund individuals except through its scholarship programs.  WCCF does not typically fund special events or capital campaigns.

Mesa County Small Grants Fund

Small Grants that Make a Difference

The community leaders who established this fund are fond of quoting Eleanor Roosevelt.  “Energy can be generated for the solution of all kinds of problems by having a small amount of money in the right place.”  Mesa County Small Grants are available for Mesa County projects where a small amount of dollars ($200 to $500) in the right places will make a difference.  Deadline for application for Mesa County Small Grants is June 1 of each year.

Deadline: August 15.
